                                                                     Managing Partner & Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Coad is our Chief Operating Officer and is based out of our Birmingham, Alabama office. Rick is a 40-year finance industry veteran with extensive C-Suite experience in commercial banking, healthcare financing, corporate finance, and private debt and equity raises. 

Mr. Coad is the CEO and founder of Coad Consulting LLC, and a co-founder of SLK Capital Advisors, a boutique broker dealer specializing in debt and equity raises through the private placement market. 

A talented deal maker, he has successfully formed relationships and secured financing with clients throughout the Mid-South and Midwest on both the buy side and sell side. His impressive track record includes brokered deals through D.A. Davidson, Duncan Williams, Raymond James, Morgan Keegan, AmSouth Bank, First American Bank, Nat City Investments, Nat City Bank and Merchants National Bank & Trust. 

His career highlights include - Senior banker on municipal and state debt aggregating more than $20 billion. Co-creator of the ongoing Hoosier Equipment Lease Program (HELP) for the Indiana Bond Bank. Creator of the taxable floating rate alternative lending product for First American and AmSouth Bank which generated more than $3 million in annual recurring revenues.

Mr. Coad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Belmont University, and an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute. 

                                                                                         FORREST YOUNG

                                                                  Managing Partner & Chief Strategy Officer

Forrest Young is a seasoned executive with over two decades of leadership in mortgage banking, financial services, and fintech innovation. As Managing Partner and Chief Strategy Officer at Southern Capital Funding Network, Forrest leverages his extensive experience in strategic growth, market expansion, and partnership development to help scale SCFN’s national platform.

Before joining SCFN, Forrest served as Chief Marketing & Sales Officer at Dar Al Tamleek in Saudi Arabia, where he built the Kingdom’s largest non-bank mortgage company—achieving 45% market share.  His prior leadership roles include President of Accent Mortgage Services, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Home Savings of America and Aegis Lending Corporation, Executive Vice President & Co-Founder of Newcastle Mortgage Corporation, and Vice President of Branch Operations at Transamerica Corporation, where he pioneered national lead-referral programs with major U.S. banks.

A graduate of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, Forrest has also served as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the American International School of Jeddah. Based in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, he continues to drive innovation, strategic partnerships, and growth across SCFN’s expanding footprint nationwide.

                                                                                           DAVID WATKINS

                                                                      Managing Partner & Chief Production Officer 

Mr. Watkins works closely with our Regional Vice Presidents, Area Market Managers, and Independent Referral Organizations (IROs) to develop, implement and improve workflows that ensure efficient processing and closing of our loan package submissions. 

David has over 20-years of experience in mortgage banking including multiple senior level positions in both wholesale and retail underwriting operations to include Vice President - Sales and Operations, and Area Sales Manager for a leading national wholesale lender. Mr. Watkins also brings extensive origination and operations experience managing retail lending operations throughout Florida and Georgia as a Regional Sales Manager for a Fortune 500 national retail mortgage lender. 

Having lived and worked in the Metro Atlanta area for three decades, Mr. Watkins has cultivated strong relationships throughout the Southeast. David’s in-depth knowledge of the regional market allows him to offer strategic insights and functional solutions for clients.

David is a graduate of the University of Alabama and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Corporate Finance and Investment Management.

                                                                                    ANTHONY MCMILLAN
                                                                                           Chief Technology Officer

Anthony McMillan serves as the company’s CTO. In his role, he supports the companies field personnel with all phones, computer and email related issues. In addition, he is responsible for the management, strategy and execution of the IT infrastructure for the company to include overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals, directing the effective delivery of networks, the development, and the disaster recovery systems and processes of the company.
 

Anthony is a highly skilled and seasoned Telecom & Network Engineer with over 16 years of experience having supported local, national and international clients located throughout the Atlanta metro area and the Southeast.

Mr. McMillan attended Belmont Abbey College and was a 2-year player on the baseball team.
